The Carlton Hotel

The renovation work to this classic midtown Manhattan hotel included a new heating/cooling fan coil system for two contiguous hotel floors at a time, thus permitting phasing of the construction while the hotel was occupied. Mechanical upgrades included the installation of a new electric modular chiller plant, new modular gas fired boiler plant and new gas fired domestic hot water plant. In addition to the aforementioned design work Tangel Engineering Associates provided consultation and construction administration for the hotel upgrade including electric utility upgrade, new lobby and restaurant.

This six story, 134 key, extended stay suites hotel stands in the shadows of Giants Stadium in the

Meadowlands. The hotel includes studio, one and two bedroom suites, each with a kitchenette

and living room area. Other amenities include a swimming pool and spa, lobby and meeting

rooms. The design features independent heating and cooling, utilizing vertical packaged air

cooled heat pumps, and a single-stack cast iron vent and waste plumbing system.
